Creating a new type of green careers resource for young people

With the International Labour Organisation (ILO) predicting that the green economy will create a staggering 24 million additional jobs worldwide by 2030, there’s never been a better time to get young people plugged into the opportunities offered by this exciting sector and that’s just what SLN commissioned us to do.

For the past three years we’ve been working with Sussex Learning Network, one of the leading Uni Connect learning partnerships dedicated to ensuring that higher education and bright futures are accessible to all young people across the region.

SLN approached us to create a new online directory that would bring together all green related courses, training and apprenticeship opportunities available to young people across Sussex into one easily accessible destination.

The new resource called Greener Careers Sussex is now being used by hundreds of schools, FE colleges and universities across the region and is providing a template that is being replicated across the country to promote green economy career options to young people.

This month in a milestone moment we added details of the 500th course to the site giving a feeling for the huge scale of opportunity in this growing sector.

Young people can search for inspiration by level and sector with the sectors being those set out by the Green Jobs Taskforce as key to supporting the UK’s net zero emissions target.

If you’ve got a complex digital project and you’re looking for creative, accessible solutions, why not get in touch? We relish this kind of challenge and would love to help you out…
