Chesterton Primary School

School Marketing Plan | Website | Design

The brief

Communitas was commissioned to advise on stakeholder relationships, with a focus on parental engagement and improving the quality and consistency of communications and marketing aimed at parents and carers. A secondary objective was to raise the school’s profile amongst the education community at large in order to foster partnerships and support project bids.

Our response

We created and delivered a communications strategy, which included building a new school website, providing advice and guidance for the school office around communicating with parents, designing a new template for the school newsletter, launching and managing social channels (Facebook and Twitter), creating templated versions of standard letters home, devising a recruitment pack and creating a school handbook for parents and carers amongst a range of other outputs.

As a result of successfully delivering this strategy we were subsequently asked to design and build a new website for Chesterton's teaching school (Wandle Teaching School Alliance), for the school’s government- funded English Hub, as well as for its academy trust, Wandle Learning Trust.

Twitter engagement rates are consistently 5% and above, the school is now over-subscribed for the first time since before 2016. Parents and carers report high satisfaction with the website and social media channels.
