Wandsworth Council

Communitas provides marketing and PR training for Wandsworth Council’s new primary and secondary Heads and Deputy Heads induction course, as well as to School Business Managers. Course content is agreed in advance and tailored to the needs of the particular delegates and will typically include:

Half day on handling media enquiries – comprehensive strategies for dealing with negative PR, pre-empting/avoiding negative stories and creating positive news stories.

Half day on marketing your school - knowing and understanding your audiences and their influencers (including making best use of surveys), making the most of your assets (e.g. website, front office staff, open events), creating a multi-channel strategy with a focus on digital communications (including social media), and innovative ways to gather content and tell your school’s story. The session also includes tips for measuring the effectiveness of marketing so that schools can amplify what works, and stop doing what doesn’t.

The sessions are very practical, with lots of time for discussion and working through scenarios.

‘You were great’

‘I didn’t expect to learn so much’

‘Thank you – I came straight back to school and told my team all about the session. You gave me so many ideas about how to market my school!’
