Communitas. The public relations people.

Communitas connects with proposed Chatham Academy stakeholders.

April 2009

Communitas has been brought on board by CASL (Church of England Academy Services Limited) to steer the consultation process for a proposed Church of England Academy in Chatham.

The brief was to provide a full PR and marketing service for the two month consultation period, including media relations, production of a consultation document, public meetings and a student’s wish wall. A consultation document with a questionnaire was delivered door to door around the two school sites, to parents of all students at Medway Community College and Chatham South School as well as to parents of children at seven local primary schools.

A new website, www.chathamacademy.org, was also launched on 20 April, offering a range of more detailed information and the chance for local people to return the newsletter questionnaire online. The proposed Academy is sponsored by the Rochester Diocese Board of Education with Medway Council and Canterbury Christ Church University.

Revd Canon John Smith, Diocesan Director of the Rochester Diocesan Board of Education, said: ‘I very much hope that as many people as possible will take the time to look at the proposals and let us know their views. This is a hugely exciting opportunity for students at both schools and also for the wider community proposals and let us know their views. This is a hugely exciting opportunity for students at both schools and also for the wider community.
