Intern takeover

In a first for Communitas we've got an intern working with us. Riki is 17 and from Germany; she found the company online and wrote us an email we simply couldn't refuse. The fact that she has co-skippered yachts around Italy gave us confidence that she could probably handle anything we might throw at her!

She is particularly interested to learn about how schools and education providers in the UK are using social media within their admissions marketing. In turn we're keen to learn from her how the education system works in Germany, and also about her school in particular, which is run partly along Waldorf principles.

We've asked her to blog about her experience each week. Coming from a country famed for its efficiency, we were delighted to read in her first blog that she found the UK airport and train system 'stressless' and 'well signposted.' Her first impressions of Brighton were also good, the colourful houses and proximity to the sea are particular highlights. And on a drizzly Monday it was especially uplifting to read the concluding lines of her blog, 'On sunny days, sitting on the beach and waching the sundown is something you can't get everywhere.'
